At CopperBeech our prices include VAT, all food and bedding, and for dogs two 20 minute walks daily, or for cats toys and attention throughout the day.

​​Since I was little..r I've always known my career path would involve working with animals!

After working in the dog day care sector for 5 years I came to the kennels in 2022. I always try to find new ways of entertaining our 4 legged friends and never resist the more challenging guests and I became Nicola's manager in 2024. I took over the social media content - which I think everyone is grateful for haha!

I am dedicated to help the kennels progress and thrive now and in the future - I even come with a mini version, who insists she will work here when she is older - this being Harriet (my 7 year old daughter!

Having been in primary education for 15 years I decided that it was time to follow my dream.  Volunteering with the Guide Dogs as a puppy walker and boarder, since my children were little, made my decision to buy Copperbeech a little easier. 

Along with my long time friend and business partner Mark we decided to take the already established business forward and we've never looked back.

From when I used to board my pets I know that leaving your pets in someone else's care is a hard decision to make, so with Mark's invaluable assistance we continuously work at making the kennels and cattery a place to be proud of and making sure all the animals in our care are safe and happy.

As Copperbeech has grown so has our team and I'm proud to say I'm lucky to have a group of people, each with their own specialities, but all with one thing in common - their love of all things furry (and sometimes unfurry!)

​​Teaching was also my first career, gaining my degree whilst working at the kennels whenever I could. Some people say that this is apparent when customers pick up their fur babies from Copperbeech and I give them a little pawrents evening session about their stay haha!

It soon became clear that working with  animals was my true love and when the opportunity came to join the team permanently I jumped at the chance.  I'm so proud to be a manager and love my job; getting to know the guests and working out how to make their stay more enjoyable; whether it's running on the field with those more energetic guests, sitting with the ones who need a little more encouragement or spending time with the cats - giving them cuddles and playing games to stimulate their brains.  Emily Hudson Manager
